We’ve had a busy few weeks as the turn toward Spring is in full effect. Since the New Year, it’s felt like time is fluidly slipping through our fingers like water. The moments blend together when we reminisce over our recent travels and experiences. It’s been an exciting and eventful first few months of 2019 and we’ve tried to be present for each and every moment. Whether it’s been dance parties at home or playing little games of whatever Logan can come up with, we’ve been enjoying our time together.
Shortly after we got back from Innsbruck we took Logan to the Stadler [large bike store where we got Doreen’s bike]. We kept it a secret until we were on the train headed to the store - he got pretty excited when he found out where we were going. He picked out a great new bike after test driving a few different ones around the store.
Two weeks ago we celebrated Doreen’s birthday with a wonderful night out. Logan was super excited that he could be out past bedtime and the weather was perfect for a nighttime bike ride, through the city, on our way to the Indian/Mexican fusion restaurant.
Last weekend we took advantage of the sunny days with two outings. The first was to the park so Logan could ride his bike around while the dogs got to unleash some of their springtime energy.
The second was an extended bike ride to Schönhauser park in a nearby suburb. We anticipated more foliage but still had a good time playing and then having a great lunch at Food Truck Sunday.
This week winter tried to hold on with one last showing of cold. It was no factor and it didn’t keep us in. We’ve had a taste of spring and will continue to anticipate the warmer weather that brings new travels and experiences. Next week we’re headed to Dresden for the holiday weekend and then back to Poland in May when Doreen is back from LA. Summer is sure to bring plenty of new experiences our way and we can’t wait to have all of them. As Georgia O’Keeffe would’ve said, the most important thing, at this very moment, is the flower in your hand.
Whatever your flower might be and wherever you might find yourself; hold it and know it, it is all that matters in the moment.
Until Next Time,
The McNeills
